DOMV3 pilot production has been completed. We already successfully ran about 30p to check assembly and function. Some minor tooling changes were needed (been completed) and a limited initial production of 200p is scheduled for completion Aug 10th. This limited production will get divided among the top retailers. Full production will start after Aug 21st. I don't really expect retailers to be able to keep regular stock until end of September. Here's some major points:
- Goggles ship with white fan faceplate, 1800mAh LED indicator battery and HDMI cable (mini-mini with mini-micro and mini-standard adapters).
- does not include receiver module or head tracker (however Raceband RX is inexpensive and there will be price reductions on the head tracker module).
- Release price will be $349 (but can expect this to drop around $20 in following months).
- display is 800X480 30 degree FOV and supports side/side 3D.
- HDMI support up to 720p (verified works with Lightbridge, DJI Inspire, Phantom3 with HDMI upgrade, Parrot Bebop and Connex).
- big improvements on the DVR; DVR can now autodetect and switch on the fly between NTSC and PAL (no more split screen). DVR is equipped with supercap to provide enough power to close files should the battery be removed before pressing stop record.
- DVR records analog only (does not record HDMI sources).
